Route CREATOR
Q. When auto
routing, there were 3 connections that would not auto route and
I had
to route them manually. Is there a reason for this?
A. There
are several reason for not doing that it may be possible for
clearance you had given to auto-route those traces or PCB not
have much space to pass those traces.
Q. Can anyone tell
me why the Route Creator keeps giving me more incomplete
routes every time I run it? I have over 1000 scheduled
routes, and after I manually route a few lines, and
re-run Route Creator, I got "surprisingly" more lines
to route. It even happens when I increase the number of layers
in my layout in order to ease its work (supposed to,
doesn’t it?). Is there anything newer than the version
I have so I can complete my design? I truly appreciate any help
is this regard.
Thanks,
A. Do
not increase Layer in your board file Please make sure how many
layers you really wants want in your PCB.
When you are using
Route Creator
(1) Make sure you not disable the schedule option in
View/Layers/Masks options. If yes so, when route creator is auto
routing those schedules trace it is still there. And after
Auto-Routing you make some manual routes. When you are doing
manual routing the scheduled line is not deleted from the board.
So, when you using Route Creator next time you found more
schedule trace to do. Do One thing you enable all options in
View/Layers/Masks. Deleted All Schedule trace in your PCB and
re-generate schedule and then use Route Creator. Don't Disabled
any options in View Layer Mask option.
Q. I have a question
on the auto routing for multi-layer board (4 and greater).
When setting up which layer to autoroute, must the layers be
adjacent. I other words layer 1 and layer 2 or layer 3
and layer 4? Are you
able to autoroute layer 1 and layer 4 using blind visas?
A. No
you can not doing like this because as per the international
standard Layer 1 and 4 is Signal layers and Layer 2 and 3 are
Power and Ground plain layers. If you want to design Multi-layer
board (4 layer). You must have to use 1 and 4 layer and Layer 2
and 3 this is the default settings of Board Creator so in
4-Layer board you can’t get Blind and Buried visa if you want
buried vias on this layers you can’t give Power and Ground Net
for copper plane. Above 4 layer you use 1 and 6 layer for
component and solder, other 2 and 5 for Power and Ground plane
layers and other two 3 and 4 are Inner-top and Inner-bottom with
blind and buried vias support. Blind/Buried via is using for
connecting internal top-bottom layer.
Q. I can't select
inside wire with component option. Could you help solve this
problem? What's wrong?
A. This
is a schedule route lines if you need to delete or select those
lines from components pads you have to run Select command and
disable all the options only MASK: Schedule and Segment: Lines
options are enable then you select those lines.
Q. Even if I don't
change anything on the PCB, shouldn't at least one trace get
auto routed with the
configuration I have now? Not a single trace gets routed. There
are no errors reported.
A. First
make sure your schematic is OK. I saw may component points are
open on PCB this is error in your schematic please check your
schematic and make sure your all wire and net name connection
are ok.
Component placement
of PCB:
Placement of
component is a most important in PCB lay outing and auto routing
a PCB select one grid for placement a whole board component used
25, 50 or 100 mil grid steps to place component on PCB it is
useful at a routing time. Also at the time you have to select
your component PAD size.
Select Multiple LINE width Auto routing: Select multiple routing
line width for auto routing when you generate a schedule trace
at that time you see the net name in menu you have to select you
special signal and his width like (GND = 50 mil VCC = 30 mil) it
is depend up on your requirement. Then go to Route Creator and
start Autoroute your PCB.
Q. Then I went to
Reports again and selected Check Clearance. I selected the
default values (0.010) for everything and pressed OK. The
program completed its
checks and I got in Note message box: No clearance errors
detected.
A. That
is ok but first you have to layout your schedule traces using
Auto router or Manual routing with the help of traces and vias
and then try to run this command for your board layout. This
command is give you error reports on Clearance check if these
boards have it.
Q. I am having
problems rotating/mirroring parts in the Board Creator program
for the Circuit Creator
Pro version.
A. When
you going to load symbols in Board Creator at that time you can
see at bottom of EDIT windows (Below the start button of
windows) with command. ROTATE THE SYMBOL: You can rotate symbol
using F10 key with 4 different orientations 90, 180, 270, 360.
MIRROR SYMBOL: This command works only at Load symbol time you
can use this command by just pressing "O" key from
keyboard. When ever you want mirror symbols in PCB after
importing UPD file you need to load this symbol again and then
use it for the same.
Q. I have a layout
almost finished and I am trying to rotate a couple of Pad
layouts in
Board Creator but I have already done the auto routing. Is this
possible?
A. Yes
it is possible only thing you have to relay out or re-auto route
the remaining traces.
Q. When auto
routing, there were 3 connections that would not auto route and
I had
to route them manually. Is there a reason for this?
A. Auto
route program is auto routing as per some method so it may be
possible for those three traces have no more clearance around it
location.
