Logic CREATOR
Q. When in Logic
Creator, I click on library, then library selection, then
enter part# (1x2h),
it finds the part but says error-no matching entries in this
library *.prt. It finds the part but it won't let me
select it because when I click ok for the error,
the screen closes.
A. Yes
that is right because you must have to select the library file
that have 1x2h.prt files otherwise it gives you error like
this. You must have to know which parts stored in particular
library files. Or you can use Library/Part by Name search
command. You can find out the parts location by refer the
CKT-LIBLIST.TXT file in C:\CKTCRT directory by this file you
can find out which part stored in particular library in
Circuit Creator.
Q. Also, Board
Creator does not update part information on the "Update
from Logic
Creator" function. It only updates net list information.
Is this correct?
A. Yes.
Because Update list file (.UPD) is automatically generated by
Logic Creator program so when you run Update from Logic
Creator command in your PCB file it updates all the
information update list file have. If you want to change
Parts-name, Footprints name you must have to open this .UPD
file in any text editor program and make the changes and then
run this file on PCB file this time you can update all changes
you changed in .UPD file.
Q. I am in a Logic
Creator drawing. There seems to be some net names below
the drawing, outside of the schematic boundary outlines.
How do I delete it, since the cursor doesn't reach that
far? These unneeded net names are causing the Design
Check to fail.
A. Open
your schematic in Logic Creator and go to Sheet format and
increase your sheet sizes and then go to Sheet 2 where Logic
Creator shows errors in this schematic at bottom of the
schematic you can see some unneeded objects still you didn’t
remove so remove those unneeded objects and then run the
Design check now this time you see "No Error
Detected" message on your screen.
Q. When I am going
to use Parts by Library command it is given me error.
A. Did
you configure your libraries in File/Preference/Libraries? If
you have configured your libraries in
File/Preference/Libraries then you can search your parts from
selecting Library/Add part by Name command. You have to type
your part name and click on Search Libraries after that you
can see following screen on your Display this means your
search part is in EVICE.LBP library. You have select parts and
click on OK button you can get this parts in to your sheet.
 |
| Otherwise
you can see following ERROR on your display screen. |
 |
Q. I was able to
import an ASCII file with no error, however, in the help file,
it says one must use
"Update from LOGIC CREATOR" from the I/O menu;
however, there is no
"Update from LOGIC CREATOR". How do I import the .upd
file?
A. Logic
Creator Program is for creating logical diagram (Schematics)
of the products you want to develop. When you are done with
this schematic file you have to generate Update List .UPD file
from Report/Formal/Export menu. After generating UPD file you
can use "Create from Logic Creator" and
"Updates from Logic Creator" from Board Creator
program. "Create from Logic Creator" This option you
have to use when you create your PCB file first time.
"Updates from Logic Creator" This option you can use
after creating your pcb file and every time when you made any
change in your schematic files but make sure you must have to
create .upd file when you done with your changes in schematic
file. Doing this procedure you must have to save your work
most have the time to updating and changing you Layout (PCB)
and Schematic (SCH).
Q. Every thing is
working fine. I do have one question. Is there a way to save
an .sch file to a
jpeg or other type of graphic file? I want to do some work on
the .sch in PhotoShop 7.01. I can make a copy and scan
it, but it would be better to just transfer
the .sch to PhotoShop.
A. Yes
you can do that. After finishing every thing on schematic
files you want edit your schematic file in Photoshop. You must
have to print your schematic file in to Post Script file
format and convert in to .PDF file by using Acrobat distiller
program. After that you can import this file in to Photo Shop
program.
Q. Not sure what
I'm doing wrong with this schematic! Some of the parts are not
showing up on the Net
list U4 and a few other parts.
A. You
are doing OK in schematic design but make sure your schematic
file name not much longer then 16 character. If you have given
your schematic file name longer then 16 characters so when you
create any reports then it will affect Net-list and other
reports file.
Q. I cannot find
the library of components to use on my board. (Resistors,
capacitors, etc.)
A. Go
to the File menu and click on " Load Symbol" or Ctrl
+ L then you get the PC board symbol menu or PCS View menu now
you can see symbols files on screen. Also you can store your
own symbol in library. For resistor you have to select DISC-R.PCS
and DISC-C.PCS file you can select for capacitor.
Q. How do you get
a wire into a bus? Buses appear proximately in the GUI, but I
can't find a way to connect any wires into them. I would
like to take A0, A1, A2, and
A31 and combine them into a bus called A [31:0].
A. Bus
lines are just reference line for signals line or wire line.
If you need to use this bus line draw line using Draw/Wire
command from component pin and give net name using Net Name
command but make sure every wire line has a single net name.
Other wise it will give you net name conflict errors.
Q. I'm in the
process of learning and implementing Circuit Creator to
replace our existing
schematic capture and routing software. Most of the functions
work well so far, but I'm having problems loading a
significant percentage (20%?) of parts into the Symbol
Creator and Logic Creator modules. I get the message "The
entry is not in one of the configured libraries.
Vibra16.prt" I get this message even after
extensively trying to select and configure the symbol and
parts libraries to which the part is associated. I
chose the above part as an example since
it is the first one I ran into.
A. In
Circuit Creator library have one word and text file call
Library part list. Other way is you have to go in library Manu
and click on Add Part by Name command you get a Library part
menu just type your part and click on Search from Library you
get your part in window below is your search result. "
Vibra16.prt this part in 68HC.LBP library "
Q. I am
experiencing is in logic creator when I try to put a net name
on a wire or component
pin (Under net name new the selections NC GND GNDA GNDC and
+5v cause the program to crash.) As a workaround I can type
NC or GND and the
program will take the information. Do you have patches to fix
this problem?
A. I
don't think this type of problem occurs in Circuit Creator but
I suggest you to reinstall your Circuit Creator with new
platform.
Q. I have
purchased this product and registered this product but if I go
into help on Logic
Creator or Board Creator it still has no serial number and
asks me to register.
A. You
send your program version and date of purchase we will let you
know.
Q. I have some pin
14’s that I need to add a capacitor or resistor to. How do I
add a capacitor
to a pin 14? I am trying to add the capacitor to a 74hc02.
A. You
have to just put a resistor and capacitor and give net name on
pin +5V or VCC and other end of CAP is gnd So when you
generate report for Board Creator .upd file or Net list files
Logic Creator automatically connect it with pin 14 VCC and pin
7 GND. You can see it in Net name report and Update file .upd
file report.
Q. All our
schematic drawings use colored wires for easy understanding of
the circuitry. We
were looking for software that can be used for drawing such
schematics that can also
be used for PCB design.
A. Logic
Creator program have this features to draw schematic in color
but in Logic Creator program you can get all the wires
property in a single color you can’t give different color to
other signals wires directly in schematic file but you can
generate PS (Postscript) format and then assign color to
signal wire. After creating schematic file you can use same
schematic file for PC board designing for doing this you just
generate update list report of schematic file from Report
menu.
Q. Also all
resistors need to be of the box type and not the standard
symbol of the resistor.
This besides we should be able controls the size of the
components. While drawing the schematics wires must not
pass through other components. I feel your system may
be good for use in applications where the schematic-s is used
for manufacturing purposes within an organization. We need to
give the schematics to our customers and our customers
are unhappy with schematics that
do not conform to their idea of a neat and good schematic
diagram.
A. You
can apply those all features to your schematic in Logic
Creator program. Also you can use different shapes and size
symbols on schematic as well as in Board Creator program (PC
Board designing).
Q. Currently, the
file does not produce a BOM report, or any error message as to
why not. It did produce
a couple of BOMs, and then stopped.
A. Look
in to your schematic file U? (I am give it U4) 75176 it shows
all the pin no1 is symbol is missing so when you check the
design for Design check and BOM it stopped the process so you
did not see any error message and bill of material file for
you schematic. Now you can produce all the reports from Logic
Creator program.
Q. I just received
the current version of Circuit Creator. In Logic Creator, I
click on a part and
bring up the Part Update box. I want to enter my company's
part number, so I enter it in the Part Number field. I
click OK and it seems to save. Future clicks on that
part does show the correct number. Now I want to print out
a BOM. I do and that part number is either empty or has some
other number in the
Part Number field. How can this be fixed?"
A. Logic
Creator is very easy using for schematic designing and
generating its reports. When you double click on logic symbol
it show you part updated menu you can’t change Part number
directly from the schematic file. If you want to change Part
number you must have to go in Symbol Creator and open your
part library and EDIT part info. Then you get directly same
part number every time and in you BOM report so you can
directly print bill of material report from you printer it is
in text format. You can import it in word or excel file very
safely so you can put your company logo and other confidential
matter.
Q. I've just
started to use your Circuit Creator program for a client of
mine, in the past
I've used OrCad and Eagle to create boards for other clients
but this one wanted to use your program. While going
through the tutorial I noticed that once I connect
wires to a component and then move the component the wires do
not follow. This is very strange and different than the
other programs I've used. Have I setup some parameter
incorrectly? Please tell me how I can get the program
to keep the wires connected to a part when it is moved.
A. In
Logic Creator program you can use wires for connecting
components pins together after draw wire you can move
component with wire or without wires automatically and
manually also.
Automatically:
When you need to move automatically together with component
you need to Select/Options by just pressing S and O from
keyboard or go to Edit/Select/Options after that you can see
the Select/Options window on the screen you need to enable
Component and Touching and all other Object are enable and
click on Ok and exit from pop-up. Go to Component and click on
it by using mouse or Keyboard and drag it on page all the
wires move together with component.
Manually: When
you need to move automatically together with component you
need to Select/Options by just pressing S and O from keyboard
or go to Edit/Select/Options after that you can see the
Select/Options window on the screen you need to enable
Component and Bound by (Flat) and all other Object are enable
and click on Ok and exit from pop-up. Go to Component start
point and click on it by using mouse or Keyboard and select
whole component and drag it on page all the wires move
together with component.
In Board
Creator: In Board Creator you have to draw schedule manual
or automatically by importing update list from creating
schematic using Logic Creator program in this program. When
you draw board manually you must have to use schedule mask and
line type is schedule type so when you select the part
schedule line move with the component side.
Q. All the parts
lib are blacked out and I can't choose a part from the library
files but I can
print the drawings now.
A. First
you have to configure your library files in Logic Creator
program in File/Preference/Libraries
menu you need to select which library you want to use. After
that you can see all the library files and use all Library
parts in to your schematic file using Logic Creator program.
Q. Does the
schematic capture program allow printing to various printers
or plotters
or even pdf formats?
A. Yes.
Logic Creator or Schematic Capture is allowed you to get all
types of printing you need. You have to make sure you must
have the printer driver of the specific printers or plotters
and it all support with your operating systems.
Q. If I have drawn
2 different schematics & saved them with 2 different names
but I want to design
single PCB consisting of both the circuits what should I do?
I got your reply regarding to my difficulty @ combining 2
different schematics. But now the problem is I have
already drawn 2 different schematics & saved them
with two different names. So they are as good as 2 different
schematics. If I open my first schematic drawn on
sheet1 & copy 2 nd schematic & paste it on
sheet2 of 1st schematic is it possible to do this?
A. If
you want to design single pcb using schematic capture you did
not draw different schematic for that you can draw one
schematic sheet-1 and other in sheet-2. You can draw 32 sheets
in a single schematic file.
How to select
sheet: You just have to press "V" key from
keyboard otherwise go to View menu and select sheet options
you can draw your PCB schematic section wise like. Power
supply Ckt., Driver Ckt, Control Ckt. etc. Yes this is a good
and very useful features of Circuit Creator you can design up
to 32 sheets in a one schematic file and you can select sheet
size A to E size and custom size (64 inch x 64 inch) You can’t
open both schematic files at a time on screen. What you have
to do is first open your second schematic and select your data
you have to copy paste to another schematic file. Now open
your first schematic file and go to second sheet and paste it.
Q. I have tried it
& facing difficulty. When I paste that schematic on sheet
2 it gives error
message as "This entry is not in one of the configured
libraries 100k.prt, cap.prt ect" But all these
components are present in the libraries which are provided
by you. Then also it’s giving this error message and that’s
why unable to paste
that schematic.
A. Please
make sure about you have configure resistor and caps library
in your library configuration menu in File/Preference/Library
configuration/ after that you can use parts from all this
library.
Q. When in Logic
Creator, I click on library, then library selection, then
enter part# (1x2h),
it finds the part but says error-no matching entries in this
library *.prt. It finds the part but it won't let me
select it because when I click ok for the error, the
screen closes.
A. First
you have to configured library in File preference menu. When
you search for 1x2h by giving from library it gives you result
on this. This part is in DEVICE.LBP. You have to double click
on result parts you get it in you sheets.
Q. Does the
schematic capture program allow printing to various printers
or plotters
or even pdf formats?
A. Of
course it allows printing on various printers and Plotters.
All the devices supported by Windows and if you have any
specific device you can use this device by installing its
driver files in Windows.
